Getting rid of cable, best live tv app?

Currently trying to get rid of cable as it’s costing way too much every month and we’re expecting baby #2. I want to be able to watch live tv channels like the news etc and possibly able to record shows/movies. We used to not have cable, and only use Netflix and I hated it. Any suggestions?? Thank you!

Right now we are using YouTube TV and we can record shows and stuff but it's not as cheap as it once was. We are looking into sling TV as it's cheaper but it doesn't offer our local news channels that we do watch daily. But my mom loves sling TV

We have Roku, they have live TV on there, we also have Netflix, Disney+, Peacock, HBO max, and we basically DVR whatever TV show so we don’t have to watch commercials, but I’m also thinking about getting rid of the cable, I’m just doing the streaming packages my cable bill is ridiculously high because we have 1000 channels and no one watches them Aside from basic cable￼. Three different DVR’s,comCast is like 300.

I've used sling in the past and we liked it. I've heard good things about hulus live option. We aren't fans of live TV in my house though so we haven't used these in a while and didn't use cable when we had it.
