To all of my mothers, college students and more I have a question. Is transferring from a private college to a community college a down-grade?

Im having a lot of trouble with my roommate, making friends, getting along with my counselors and i’m very far away from my family to add on I do not drive and can’t afford for lessons. I am no longer interested in my major and this university does not have my major that I want.

I want to go to community college because it 100% more cheaper than private college and I would be able to save up for a car and lessons if I were to go to community college. My mother thinks that the title of the college and my education just because it’s a private school is better she also thinks i’m doing it to live closer to my boyfriend. It’s 30 minutes away from home and there’s nothing to do.

Is it a down grade? or am I making a mistake? Please help me with this situation. I don’t know what to do for those who live in a hispanic household know that “your parents should be always right” and that “they know best” and I can’t just up and move back home and colleges without have done my research and know that it will benefit me. If they don’t agree we won’t be able to come to an agreement and I will be forced mentally into staying here because I fear of disappointing my mother.
