Advice?

Hey I got my period at 11 and I’m now 14. I grew up playing football (not playing anymore) on an all boys team and basketball with girls and I’ve never used a tampon but as I got older it feels uncomfortable to wear a pad and play sports. And I feel like I should learn how to use them but I’ve always been to scared. And I’m just not really sure what to do. Any advice?

Answer

Start with the smallest size (light, junior, etc.) with a panty liner just in case until you learn your size/capacity.
Applicators (whether plastic or cardboard) make it easier and neater when inexperienced. Follow the directions (insert then push the stick portion in, then remove applicator and toss in the trash) and remember to remove it after a few hours.
Tampons can make you feel dry (they suck up everything) so can definitely be a bit uncomfortable to /remove/ if they are still dry.
