What size was your baby wearing when they came home and for the first few months?

I went shopping today and spent a very pretty penny on clothing for baby since ppl respected my wishes of not purchasing clothes as a shower gift. What size was your baby wearing when they came home and for the first few months? I got mostly 0-3 month and a handful of newborn sizes….

Your question is kind of two questions, most babies are in newborn sizing when they come home from the hospital, but after a couple of weeks (if that) will have already grown out of newborn and onto 0-3 months so I think what you have bought is a good balance

Depends on the baby - ours was born on the smaller side of normal (6 lbs 11 oz) and lost weight in the hospital so he was in newborn clothes for almost the first 3 months.  Personally, I was so glad I didn’t listen to everyone who told me not to bother with newborn clothes and that he’d grow out of them in a couple weeks.  Wasn’t true at all for our little peanut.

It depends on baby. With my first he was born 40 + 5 and he fit into preemie. I also bought way to much newborn stuff and people kept telling me I wasted my money but my son was in newborn for a bit over 3 months.

It all depends on your baby. My first was out of newborn in a couple weeks. My second was 6 pounds, dropped to 5. And was in newborn clothes for a couple months maybe 3.
