Sorry if this is stupid but I’m young and I don’t have a lot of experience. I’m about to put in a 2 week notice at my very toxic workplace. I’ve been applying to jobs like crazy but how exactly am I supposed to answer the phone or go in for an interview when I work M-F 8am-6pm? I get one 30 minute break where I could obviously call them back if they’re also not on lunch. But I have to lock my phone up while on the clock so I can’t exactly be like “hey this is important. I’m gonna step out and take this” ya know?. Also how am I supposed to ask off for interview? Is that rude? Do I lie and say I have an appointment? I’m just so overwhelmed. Every other job I’ve had has been very understanding and I’ve always felt like I could be honest and up front with them. But I can’t with this one.
