Have you ever needed a blood transfusion?

I might need to get a blood transfusion during surgery and I'm terrified.

I am in the same situation. I have low platelets and am currently on prednisone to try and boost my platelets before my twins arrive but there is a possibility of needing a blood transfusion when I deliver if I lose too much blood.

I had a major surgery in 2009 and blood transfusion was on the maybe side. I was nervous too. I ended up not needing it but have a scar on my neck where the line was placed. Mu sister however just had a baby on Thanksgiving and hemorrhaged bad. She had to get 3 bags of blood.
