Thought I was ovulating then took another one same day and it's not as dark. Is that normal ? I don't get it

You can stop testing. A surge can last anywhere from a few hour to several days but you're still likely to ovulate within 48 hours of the first positive though it's not guaranteed.

You go by the first positive. both lines the same color or test line is darker than control whatever comes first is your positive. ovulation can occur in 12- 48 hours after positive. Opks don’t confirm ovulation or dpo so you need to add bbt to confirm ovulation and you will know when you ovulated, dpo, luteal phase length (is from the day after ovulation to period which stays the same each cycle give or take 1-2 days. Average length is 12-14 days give or take 1-2 days.) when period is coming by temp drop or if you miss your period and your temp stays up then there is a chance for pregnancy
