My latest iron blood test has come back as 79 or 7.9? Dropped from 90 only a couple weeks ago even tho I’m taking 4 iron tablets daily (my iron was only slightly less than this after I had one of the 3 blood transfusions following a massive pp haemorrhage), according to my midwife this is quite poor and it’s been arranged that I’ve to have IV iron infusions twice weekly till the birth of my baby (DD 29th June). Has anyone else been in this situation? How did your find the infusions? I’ve only ever had the blood transfusions, never the iron infusions so I’m curious to know others experiences if you don’t mind sharing. The iron tablets have been giving me horrendous stomach issues, running to the bathroom constantly while still dealing with HG, now my heart feels crazy, I feel like a leaf and have a constant headache. It’s not nice at all.

Also more concerning, my blood platelets have come back over 1000 which my consultant tells me is well over double what’s considered “high” and definitely something we’ll need to keep an eye on. Has anyone ever had an issue with high platelets? I don’t see my consultant till the 9th where a plan will be made, im just looking for some insight if possible.
