Anyone Else Refuse induction?

I'm 40+1 and trying for a vbac. Had a horrible emergency c section with my son 3 years ago after trying pitocin.

Midwife said I was high and only 1 cm dialated (for 3 weeks now). Tried to talk me into scheduling an induction for Sunday. I refused, asked for a csection, and now I have to meet with my OB on Thursday to further discuss an induction and "andll my options"

Oh, and she said I'm l likely not going into labor on my own. Awesome.

I'm 42+5, midwife has been super supportive by offering me a lot of options. As for now, we ate waiting labor out as baby, mama, and placenta are fine. Do what you think is right.

I refused induction. My midwife offered it at 41 weeks since I am already over by 5 days and I declined. She was very supportive and said that if the tests come back fine on Thursday (nst and ultrasound) that I can go until 42 weeks and then we will talk induction. This whole pregnancy I have been planning for a natural birth and have been scared of getting induced. At the end of it all though, whatever is the best for the baby is best for me. So if tests come back healthy and I haven't gone into labour before that day, taking this to 42 weeks. I was second guessing myself because of pressure from some family-wondering if something is weird with me that I didn't get excited talking about induction-that maybe I am being selfish-but all in all, I am happy with my decision. Generally induction is contraindicated for vbac as it greatly increases the chances of a repeat c section... I would refuse if it were me and baby/placenta/fluid all looked fine

My doctor started that conversation with me yesterday. I'm 40+3 today and the head is still at -4. I think he's hesitant to make a recommendation because I've been talking the whole time about not using drugs during a natural delivery and wanting to labor in a tub, and I think I'm going to end up having to put a csection on the calendar for a date in January. Hopefully something happens before then! But it doesn't seem worthwhile to me to attempt an induction if he doesn't drop between now and then since I will most likely end up with an aweful induction experience and an emergency csection.

I'm way more emotional about this than I expected. My doctor was calling it an elective csection when i don't want it!

:/ I don't think I'd like your midwife very much, personally. What makes her think you won't go into labor on your own? Any medical reason to induce rather than monitor via NSTs and wait it out?
