Ewcm question

I had very slippery/watery cm for a couple days than the other morning noticed ewcm. Very stretchy and clear. Didn't have sex leading up to the ewcm but had sex hrs later when I noticed the ewcm. It was there befor sex and right after sex I was dry? Jus hoping I didn't miss our chance with conceiving. Jus wondering how does this thing work? Is the egg still there for 12/24 hrs when u r dry or did it pass on?
