Anyone else’s little one always tired?

My son just turned 1 on June 1st. Poor guy is always tired. He has to be woken from his naps or he’ll sleep all day. After he eats, he’ll play for about 30 minutes and then he’s back to being cranky and tired. He prefers to lay on me or he’ll lay his head down on a pillow with a toy in hand. He sleeps through the night too. My oldest was never this tired and did well with a schedule, this little one, not so much.

I’d get him checked out to make sure something else isn’t going on. My son loooooovves sleep but is never tired like that. We do a 2-3-4 wake window for him and then he sleeps through the night as well. At your 1 year check up mention how tired he is. They should run some labs especially iron to make sure he has all the nutrients he should be getting at this age :)

Thanks for all the concern. He did get his levels checked and everything was assessed at his 1 year appt on 6/1 and everything is normal. The dr said it’s likely due to teething and getting multiple teeth at once. Some babies cry and sleep poorly and mine, well he sleeps. But his energy is back to normal now thankfully. Thank you all again 💜💜

Awww momma, I’d definitely do a full workup of blood work. Sounds like something’s up. Some 1 year olds are content and observant/shy but they shouldn’t be that sleepy cranky, especially if they get more than the recommended total sleep time for their age.
My second baby likes more sleep than the first but he is very active and peppy when awake (he’s exploring everything constantly!) and his wake windows meet the minimum recommended. He takes two 1.5-2.5 naps and is awake about 2-2.5 hours morning, 3ish hours midday, and 3ish hours before bedtime. 
Track his diet/food intake for your next appt and seek a full panel of bloodwork. Best wishes in figuring it out!

Has he gone to his year check up/vaccines yet? I would definitely bring all that up at that appointment if you haven't already. Hope all goes well for you guys!!
