So negative 🙉

Why are people soo negative about having kids. My husband and I will be having our first in a few weeks and the whole pregnancy, whenever it comes up to people that we are expecting, they’re so negative about parenthood. I think everyone knows that being a parent is hard and it changes your life and that kids can be a lot, even just 1 kid. But we’re very excited and just so taken back by all the negative. Guys tell my husband that his life is over, he’ll never be able to do the things he loves anymore, no more sex life, no more sleep, no travel etc etc. Women tell me that I’ll be wishing I could put the “crotch goblins” back in, that I’ll never have peace again, that you’ll never go anywhere fun because you’ll always have the kids, that I better get used to doing things all on my own because husbands do nothing. And we both wanna be like “sorry your life is like that or that’s how you feel but doesn’t mean my life or marriage will be like that“
