Breastfed baby to bottles

Amber

I’m going back to work in a month and need advice what to do for my baby. He takes bottles occasionally but mostly just feeds off of me. But since I’m going back I want to start using bottles to get him ready to transition. Is this necessary? Also, he started this thing where he bites down on the bottle and releases and spits milk everywhere. Is there a way to make him stop doing that?

I would definitely make sure he will take a bottle before you go back, honestly it’s good practice for both of you. At least one bottle a day in the mix just to keep it flexible . Bottle refusal is real

What type of bottle and nipple size are you using? I use agent and recently learned there’s a difference between their slow flow nipple and their size 0 nipple, they are not the same! You want the slowest flow possible. We practiced for a couple weeks having baby take a bottle to make sure she did a good job before we took her to daycare.

As long as he is with you I wouldn’t even give bottles. Just maybe a few times a week if that.
