Who do I schedule my C-section with?

Did you schedule your C-section with your obgyn or just with any doc that is available on the date that you need the surgery?

At your appointment your doctor would talk to you about your C-section around 33weeks depending on your doctor and then in a couple of weeks the sergeant  should call you and no you don't get to pick your doctor you get the doctor that's on call that day

I scheduled through my ob. I picked  the day in my 39th week that worked for me. My ob happened to be out of town that day. This was fine, she didn’t deliver my last baby bc she wasn’t on call then either. She emailed the ob from the practice that was on call to make sure it was ok. It was.

When I picked my dr for the prenatal care I made sure they’d be the one delivering too. I’d freak out with a stranger..

With my first they scheduled it for me and i had no idea who did my surgery until i walked into the OR to have her. To this day I have 0 idea which person in the room was the doctor and which others were nurses or other staff.
With my second though (vbac) i got to pick the date of my scheduled csection to fit which doctor i wanted to have it with, but if i went into labor early i would have had whomever was on call

It depends on your hospital. My first was a scheduled C-section at a large academic medical center, so it was whoever was on call that day. My doc let me pick any day between 39 and 40 weeks. I could have picked the day she was on call, but I chose a different day (I just liked that birthday better 🙂), so it was a different doctor. My second was almost a C-section at a smaller institution. I again could pick any day between 39 and 40 weeks, but my OB would have been the surgeon on any day I picked.

I personally would not care who delivered. In that case, I would just choose the date that suits me.
But the booking goes trough the doc you are visiting usually.

Scheduled C-section are most likely done at 39 weeks and where I go for my pregnancy appointments. They have someone who calls and schedules it.  So you don’t really get to pick a date.
