Are 2 kids relatively close in age hard?

What’s it like having 2 kids with a kinda small age gap? My baby is 16 months old. I found out recently I was pregnant again but ended up having a miscarriage this month. The pregnancy wasn’t planned at all but now I’m terribly upset that I lost it because I was just starting to get excited about having another one.. I’ve cried for days and I think I want to talk to my bf about trying for a baby this time but im sure it’s something I’ll have to think on for a little bit. All I hear is how hard it is or how “bad” it is but I actually want to hear the good side of it for once😅 Does anyone have any advice I could keep in mind when making a decision? If I were to get pregnant again soon my baby would be around 2 to 2-1/2 by the time I had the next one.

Honestly, yes. I had bad PPD after my second. Had 2 under 2 and felt I lost myself for a few years. Mine are now 3&5 and I feel myself again

Such an individual thing. Personally, going from 0-1 was the most difficult transition for both my husband and I. 1-2 was a breeze, as was 2-3. I’m due soon with our 4th and don’t imagine it’ll be much harder. They’ll all 5 and under!

Mine are 20 months apart. The beginning was pretty tough. Mainly because my youngest didn’t want to sleep and he was colicky. I was hardly getting any sleep for the first six months. Once we got past that, it got much much easier! That being said, they’re best friend some days and enemies other days. So totally worth it but we still have occasional challenges. Personally I love having them close in age. It’s fun!

Well, I had twins so they were the same age. At first, the baby stage is hard. BUT you wouldn't be going through that. They're four now and I love that they always have someone to play with. But on the other hand, they always have someone to fight over stuff with also. It's going to have its pros and cons. You'll see the good and bad side of it. Do you want them to grow up close in age? My sister and I are 14 months apart and we weren't best friends growing up, but we also always had each other, and I really liked that.

Our girls are close to 15 months apart. Honestly, we love the age gap! When we adopt we plan on the child we adopt being anywhere from the same age up until 2 years apart from our girls. If I was safe enough to carry another pregnancy we would shoot for another 14-18 month age gap. It's hard sometimes, but I love the age gap. My girls want to play with the same toys, babble to each other, do tummy time together, crawl together, and chew on everything. They are 23 months and 7 months.

I find closer age gaps are easier, less fighting and bickering because they are at similar stages doing similar things, no only child for long term who has a problem sharing because of it etc. Its harder on your body when they are closer together. But i think mentally closer together is easier unless its a huge age gap and then a big age gap is easier, but the siblings generally dont feel like siblings and they feel like only children because the gap is so big that they are in 2 seperate stages of life, or moved out for college when the second is like 5 or 6

Mine are 2 years 3 months apart which has been a pretty good gap for us. I hear from friends that it’s easier having a bigger gap when they are younger as the oldest is more independent but easier having a smaller gap when they are older as they can play with each other, are into similar things, on similar schedules, planning family activities is easier, etc. You’re not taking a 3 year old to see a Paw Patrol movie and having a 9 year old really not wanting to be there or having a 9 year old wanting to go on all of the big rides at the fair and the 3 year old being too little. We figured the baby part was short term but they are kids for much longer so aimed to not have too big a gap between them.

I have close babies, 12 and 11 years and 3 and 2 months. My eldest is 19. It's easier when they close cause you in sync with the requirements. You need your partner to be super involved then it's a breeze. They grow up together which makes it easier as well. No as much temper tantrums.

It depends on you. People always project their opinions on everybody else but it depends on the individual and your children. Kind of one of those things you have to experience for yourself to determine. Some people love it. Some people don’t.
