Nipt bloodwork- is the gender accurate?

For those of you who have done the nipt bloodwork and opted to find out gender around the 12 week mark- were the results accurate!?!?

There’s nothing more accurate when it comes to a gender test.

Its accurate. The gender part is not seperate from the rest of the genetic testing. One test looks for abnormalities on the Y chromosome and it breaks down the DNA to look for issues in the DNA(THE X Y OR XX)  so the gender isnt seperate its just a byproduce thats found out when looking for gentic abnormalities

Yes. It's almost 99% accurate and more accurate than an ultrasound. Depending on insuranceand insurance plan the gender portion may not be covered. With my daughter my insurance at the time did not cover it and it was going to cost me close to $600 so we opted to not do it. This time around I have different insurance and everything was 100% covered. Your doctor should be able to tell you or you can call your insurance company and ask

I didn’t do it with my daughter, but we did it this time around with our fraternal twins. It says 1 boy, 1 girl. Time will tell! 😊 but my doctor said it’s over 99% accurate, even with twins. (Specifically the panorama test)

Its the most accurate way to find out gender because they look at the DNA. No way to go wrong there (ofcours 1%error possible). The cost is already included in the NIPT. You dont need to pay extra. Its literally just a checkbox asking do you want to know the gender.
