Has anyone ever had or heard of Marginal Umbilical Cord Insertion? I’m 20 weeks pregnant today and just had my anatomy scan. The doctor said the umbilical cord is on the side of the placenta and not in the center like it should be. She said baby is growing well right now but I will have to have regular ultrasounds to keep an eye on his growth. She said it’s rare and happens in about 8-9 out of 100 pregnancies. Online it said for this “condition” it’s recommended that woman have a c-section. I’ve had 2 very healthy pregnancies and vaginal births and now I’m concerned. Does anyone have any info on this or dealt with it before? Should I be worried? Thanks in advance. 💛
