Any moms here that sleep trained a 4 month old?

Im thinking about starting the babywise sleep training method and wanted some encouragement.

We did BabyWise! We started right away. It's kind of a sleep training method, but it's more so about getting them into a routine and it gradually gets them into a sleep schedule. It combines on the clock feeding and baby-led feeding. I recommend at least reading the book and checking it out first! I have 2 kids (2 & 4 years now), both were sleeping through the night by 8-9 weeks.

It depends on what you mean by sleep training. If you mean helping my baby to fall asleep independently, I've been working on that since a few weeks old :) And it definitely has helped lay the foundation for longer night sleeps. Pay attention to appropriate wake windows for your baby, and work on getting them to fall asleep on their own for nighttime first, then tackle naps. There are a lot of ways to go about doing it, just find one that works for you and your family and stay consistent :)

I didn’t sleep train but I started a bedtime routine at 3 months and my son has slept through the night (obviously not counting sleep regressions/teething) since. We did the routine one time and he slept his first full night and every night since we have done the exact same thing and it works. 4 months is too little to really train or self soothe. My son is almost 9 months old and when he does wake up at night, he still doesn’t always self soothe.

Baby’s do not have the ability to self sooth until 6 months.
