Similar Pain for Subsequent Deliveries?

I was induced (per request) at 39+3 and delivered 39+4 to my daughter for my first pregnancy. She was 8 pounds 8 ounces. We did a foley bulb and pitocin. Personally, I never felt contractions. I even had them when I arrived and had no idea. I was bouncing on a ball, talking up a storm, and had several nurses ask how I wasn’t in pain based on the strength of the contractions. They even had to lower the pitocin levels as apparently the contractions were way too strong. I did get an epidural right before they broke my water at 7cm because that was always my plan. What I did feel is the pressure and the building of pressure, ring of fire, and every stitch (14 of them). I pushed for about an hour and a half. Mostly due to an asthma flare and the oxygen I requested not being available.

Now, I’m 34+3 trying to decide on my birth plan. I’m wondering if I should try without an epidural, or not. My pain tolerance is generally fairly high, but I don’t want to be in pain just to prove anything to anyone. The pressure was horrible, but that was mostly because it caught me off-guard. I now understand that shakes can be common during transition and I can plan for that feeling as much as one can.

Has anyone had this before, and have any thoughts? I’m on the fence, but would like to finalize my “initial plan” for labor soon. Of course, it’s an initial plan and I plan for flexibility.
