How did it go? My OB cleared me to have sex at 4 weeks postpartum.

You should still wait until 6wks. Your dr can’t see what your uterus looks like. It needs time to heal. 
And do not listen to ones that didn’t listen or had sex before 6wks let alone before 4wks. Infection in the uterus is NO joke!!!

Hi I’m a gynaecologist and don’t listen to @C. She either has ultrasound vision with which she can scan your body from afar (if so, congratulations but stop being so condescending), or is on a weird misinformed mission. 
Your placenta does leave a wound but it is definitely not dinner plate sized. Size varies per woman and depends on how your placenta was attached to your womb (this can be seen on an ultrasound). Since your uterus has great blood flow, it will heal more rapidly then other areas within your body. Listen to your doctor/specialist AND to your body.
Also don’t forget to use protection! Due to the increased hormone flow in your body you’re VERY fertile the first few weeks :)

I had to wait longer than 6 weeks with my second because I bled for like 2 months (I had a C-section) and my first I think we had sex 2-3 weeks pp and I had a C-section with my first too. If your doctor has cleared you then go for it. I’ve always been told 4-6 weeks. It depends on your doctor. Just no earlier than 4 weeks. No matter what that other woman in the comments says if your doctor has cleared you then go for it. She comments on literally everything just belittling and being extremely rude.

I didn’t with my first and I don’t plan to have sex before 6 weeks after this pregnancy either. I’m not risking infection. Being a healthy mama for my babies is more important to me. My partner is more than understanding and there are other ways I can please him and vice versa rather than penetrative sex.

Yes. My OB cleared at 5 weeks. That’s the standard where I live. Wasn’t ready it was way too painful.

After my vaginal birth, I waited until I got cleared about 5 1/2 weeks after and was fine. 
This time I only waited 2 1/2 weeks after my c section 😬 so far I’m okay but I only did it twice. I’m now 3 1/2 weeks pp 
I was always told If you feel up to it and you’re not bleeding anymore that the risk is low and you should be okay. So that’s why I felt okay to do it so soon
