Feeling attacked by midwife?
Alright so I want to know if I’m just being overly sensitive. So I am using a birthing center for my pregnancy with 5 total midwives. They all work together and you see each of them. They also have a messaging page so you can send general messages to all of them they answer.
So the first time I messaged I had expressed I was having a hard time sleeping. This is common issue for me outside of pregnancy, but I was asking about recommendations and about the safety of melatonin. One of the midwives answered back and told me that if I’ve tried all of their suggestions in the binder (tea, more daytime activity, warm baths, etc.) that I may need psychiatric care. I told her I thought this was a bit extreme.
I just had my anatomy scan this past week at an outside radiology clinic. This same midwife messaged and told me that everything looked good on the scan, no concerns. Then messaged back later that she reviewed my file and saw I had a fibroid removed previously (I had supplied the records as far as this and the other 2 midwives I’ve seen said this was not a concern.) This particular midwife said this puts me at potentially high risk and I will need to see an OB for recommendations at 32 weeks (meaning possibly being kicked out of midwife care right at the end.) Like I said, the fibroid wasn’t a concern to the other midwives I had spoken to or a reason for me to be sent to an OB.
Am I being overly sensitive feeling like this midwife is attacking me based on these 2 messages I’ve received from her? Should I say something to the other midwives? I almost feel like she’s trying to kick me out of the service.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post!!
