Do birthmarks look like bruises? My 6 week old angel has a ‘bruise’ on her leg/hip that has been there since she arrived. Thoughts anyone?

My baby has two Mongolian spots on his back that look like bruises but they took note of them at the pediatrician and the hospital bc they look like bruises and told me about them specifically so I wouldn’t worry.

Our son has a hemangioma of the skin, if you look up photos of it, our sons is much lighter and always looked like a bruise. Not until his 2 month appointment did the pediatrician tell us what it was.

Look up angel kisses, or strawberry birthmarks & see if either of those match what your baby has. We have strawberry birthmarks in our family, & they are normal, never caused any issues. Another one is a magnolian spot which are much darker, but still normal ❤️
