Why do I get dry ?????

My situation and I have been have sex for 12 years together no we’re not together . We just have amazing sex I am very pleased but during sex things get dry I have the best sex wit him he’s the only man to please me in every ways. So I really don’t understand why I get dry . I told him that it sometimes feels like he’s stabbing me not stroking me lol . Is it my fault because I be in my head so much instead of in the moment? but I notice A change that wasn’t there before what could it be .
