Failed my 1hr AND failed my 3hr So far I have been able to strongly control my blood glucose with diet š I have been eating a soft Keto diet. Making sure if I do eat carbs I pair it with enough fat and protein. But for the most part, carbs are very limited in my diet. I have to test my blood 4 times a day. I have yet to fail any of my at home tests and so far have been dominating it šŖ Itās okay if you fail. You can conquer this!
Glucose Test

I was dreading this test. Went yesterday for the 1hr, and failed by a fraction, cutoff was 135, my test came back at 138š. So now I have to do the 3hr. I know it's possible to fail the 1hr and still pass the 3hr... But the anxiety of it all smh. Other than that baby boy is still kicking strongš Anyone else do there glucose test recently?

You're not a failure. My co-worker who has twins last year developed GDB and gave birth to two beautiful healthy babies and she's healthy as well. š

What were your numbers šš all of my numbers were high except the fasting. Luckily I had been check my glucose with my machine and have been managing it. And I agree I canāt help but feel like a bad parent ..

I might have failed the 3 hour today also š if you go off of their lab 2 of my numbers were "high" but going off of all of the sources I can find only my 2 hour was technically high... so I guess we'll see what my midwife says. I wish I didn't feel like such a failure...

I just failed my 1hr too. I know the cut off is 140 and I was at 156. I checked MyChart to see if I passed or not but the doctor hasnāt called me yet. Really hoping to do the 3hr test and pass.

I had gestational diabetes with my first and with this baby. With my first j failed my 1 hour by a few points and my 3 hour by a few points. Apparently how bad you fail doesnāt really matter- you either have diabetes or not. With this baby I tested much earlier because of my history. I failed my 1 hour terribly and was immediately diagnosed. I share this to say- gestational diabetes is manageable. Itās not fun and stressful in the beginning, but itās not been as awful as I thought it would be. If you end up with GD you meet with nutritionists regularly who teach you what to do. You send in numbers weekly and are closely monitored. You certainly arenāt in it alone and as long as you control your numbers baby should be fine.

Maybe. I was diagnosed after my glucose drink. I do know that the morning fasting number is the āmost importantā since it is totally controlled by pregnancy hormones. Your fasting should be below 95, but anything in the 90s is watched carefully- I know because mine have been in the 90s lately. I would definitely reach out to your doctor for clarity.
Good luck! Even if you are diagnosed it will be okay. I was so overwhelmed the first time, but itās manageable once they teach you what to do. It truly isnāt as awful as you think it is. Let me know if you need anything with it.

Hi, I have a question since you have experience with this. My fasting level was considered high by one but after the one hour and two hour test my numbers were normal. They said I have it based off the number I think 92 I got before I even drink the drink. It that still considered Gestational Diabetes? I usually here people have it when they get the numbers for after they drunken the drink so Iām confused.

With my first pregnancy, I passed the 1-hour test. This is my second pregnancy and failed the 1-hour test. They gave me two options, the 3-hour test OR to check my glucose levels at home and prick my finger 4-times a day for 2-4 weeks. I went with the finger pricking and so far, all of my numbers have been good (thankfully). I know itās stressful, but remember that the first test is just a āscreeningā as they told me and it doesnāt mean you have GD. The RN told me she thinks itās what I ate before taking the test, but who really knows. I rather play it safe and continue to test my blood sugars at home. Good luck on your three hour test!

I have not changed my diet at all and so far my numbers have been good (thankfully). I found it stressful at the beginning to have to prick myself so often, but Iām a week in and it has gotten easier (I am not a fan of needles). They assigned me to a āspecialistā who told me to keep my diet the same since the 1-hour test is just a āscreeningā and it doesnāt mean one has GD, so no need to change anything up. She mentioned that if I got 3 high readings in a row, Iād then be assigned to a nutritionist and at that point my diet would probably change to keep the numbers under control. I hope my numbers continue to look good, but we shall see what happens. I didnāt want to take the 3-hour test because I felt like it was too much sugar & too long to fast, and in no occasion would I ever consume that much sugar. So I wanted to see what my numbers were with what I realistically consumed and what my body actually had to process.

Since youāve been checking it yourself did you change your diet or are you eating anything and still getting good numbers ?

My first pregnancy I failed the one hour but passed the two hour. This time I failed the one hour and they gave the option of three hour or going to the diabetes doctor. I went with the diabetes doctor I didnāt want to spend three hours sitting there to end up going to them anyways. I only did that because my friend failed the one hour and then passed the three hour and they still made her go so it seemed silly to me.
