Asking for a friend she’s 8w pregnant is this normal should she go to the ER?

Brown discharge is old blood - this appears to be an old clot that took awhile to make its way out. Not ER worthy they won’t do anything. Call obgyn and let them know - see if appointment can be made for ultrasound.

It’s not normal, no. She needs to call her OB. The ER can’t help her unfortunately (unless she starts bleeding through a pad an hour). She’ll just waiting around for hours, be charged a couple thousand bucks and be told it’s a “threatened miscarriage” which is what they tell anyone with bleeding I nearly pregnancy. But definitely call her doctor so they can check on things.

The er cant and wont do anything. If shes gleeding through a maxi pad every hour for a few hours yesr go to the er. Otherwise just schedule spt with obgyn, the er really is a waste and cant do anything

I’m not sure that the ER would/could do much third early in pregnancy, unless she is having severe pain. I’d definitely call my OB’s office and ask what they recommend.

No bleeding is ever “normal” there’s always an underlying reason behind it. 
Only thing I can say is, it’s brown which means old blood. HOWEVER it’s literally a lot.
