Could use some encouragement!
Hello friends!
My husband and I want to have kids and after 5 years of marriage, are feeling mostly at peace with taking that step. I now feel more excited about it than intimidated - I'll put it that way. While finances and life change can be daunting, mostly the latter, my real hang-up is my body and health. I'm turning 35, am 5'1" and 167 pounds. I've got 40 lbs to lose to be at the top end of "healthy", but I was told losing even 10-15 lbs will make a difference as far as a healthy pregnancy and baby.
It's really hard for me to get disciplined and motivated, especially since I don't know what it's like to be a mom yet. Old habits die really hard...or perhaps new ones are just really hard to make and stick to.
I want to be healthy, even just for myself and my husband, but it really my biggest hurdle to truly TTC. We've been holding off so I can get healthier, but it's a struggle. I'm pre-diabetic with fatty liver and at times have had high BP...mostly due to white coat syndrome. I want to move forward and feel the best I can, but it's going to take a lot of hard work.
Any words of wisdom, ladies?
