Dental anesthesia: wisdom teeth extraction

Tiyah

I have to have my wisdom teeth extracted and I am TERRIFIED. Not of the procedure or the healing, but the anesthesia and aftermath. I've seen so many videos and experiences where the anesthesia makes people loopy and incapacitated ie. Talking about crazy things, not being able to function on a minimal level.

I have a 4 month old that is 100% breastfed and refuses a bottle, he's dependent on me. I'm the primary caregiver and I don't want to be unable to take care of him.

Does dental anesthesia really make people that incapacitated and loopy? Would I still be able to care for and breastfeed my child after my procedure?
