BV during pregnancy

Does BV during pregnancy just happen? I don’t have any symptoms at all they just said my Pap smear was normal but they picked up bacteria. I haven’t had anything in my vagina other than progesterone suppositories and a few transvaginal ultrasounds in 3 months. Haven’t even had sex in 3 months and I’ve never had BV before.
