26 days left!! Maternity leave start?

Nervous and excited for due date at the same time!! I’m working until 39 weeks and hope baby doesn’t come early 🤞 first went 3 days past term and I can’t imagine sitting around just waiting for a whole month.. when are you all starting maternity??

My c section date is Oct 10th and my last day of work is September 17th. I’m high risk and my body is telling me to slow down and rest. I have small babies (IUGR) and scary things happen towards the end of my pregnancies. Starting next week I will have 2-3x NST’s weekly until delivery. Also a growth scan weekly to make sure baby is still thriving and cord flow is still in normal range. My job is pretty physically demanding and it’s not worth risking the health of baby. I’m thankful that I’ve been able to save up quite a bit so that I can take this time off.

Until birth. I’m taking 16wks off after baby comes (using essentially all my annual and sick leave so it’s paid) so hoping I can keep him in until 35/36wks so I’m not using it sitting in the NICU. I absolutely hate americas anti friendliness when it comes to babies/postpartum. It’s so sad. Women shouldn’t have to work until birth & should get paid time off, more then just a few weeks!

I just started my leave today, and im 36 weeks, but my job is very physical so i just couldnt do it anymore

I'm still debating if I want to leave before my due date or not. I worked all the way up until labor my previous pregnancies. My body starting to show signs of me needing to start resting more and I still haven't got things for baby. I also still need to go car shopping 🤦🏾‍♀️ I'm such a procrastinator.

I’m trying to make it to 38 weeks & currently 34 weeks & 5 days & I honestly don’t see it happening. Gonna talk to my doctor next & see what she says.

I’m due October 8th and have booked annual leave from September 21 to October 7 and have requested that my maternity begins October 10 (as the 7th falls on a Friday), I’ll be taking the full leave period so I’ll be returning to work mid 2023
