Behind the driver or passenger? Any safer options or does it matter ?

Currently my daughter is behind the passenger seat in both cars. Statistically, the middle seat is the safest. But the safest spot is where you can get the best and correct install of the seat. For example, my husbands car manual allows of middle installation of a car seat. My daughter's seat also allows for a middle install as long as there is no more than 3 inches of overhang per the car seat manual. However, when we tried to install the seat in the middle there was more than 3 inches of overhang. This effectively makes the middle seat unsafe for correct install. So, you need to make sure that you're following the car seat manual in addition to the car manual to make sure you are doing things correctly. If you're in the US or Canada Car seats for the littles is a great resource to help with installation. The group is run by certified car seat techs. I use them all the time, most recently for a recommendation for an infant seat that will fit in my husbands car for baby number 2

Ours is on the passenger side. Cuz we want to get him out on the sidewalk vs a road. Our middle seat in the back doesn’t have anchors so we have to pick a side.

I have mine on the passenger side so I can reach her if I need to grab something or hand her something. When the new baby gets here I’ll swap my daughter to the driver side and put the newborn on the passenger side.

Our youngest is in the middle and our oldest behind the passenger. Middle seat is safest, then passanger backseat, then driver backseat.

The middle seat didn’t work for proper installation as the car seat overhang was too much. Behind the drivers seat doesn’t work as my husband is the main driver and is a big tall guy so it wasn’t safe for either of them with her behind the driver.
So she is behind the passenger. 
Baby number 2 will go in middle if the overhang is fine with the infant seat. If not the infant seat does fit behind my husbands seat position. 
You need to check the car seat manual AND your car manual to figure out the safest position.

The middle is safer for just one carseat if you have a middle seat, but I wouldn't think it would matter as I have 3 across my back seat 🤔 so idk...

Well we have 2 kids so both sides lol we’re about to have 3 so they’ll be on both sides and the middle. When we only had my 2 year old he was on the passenger side I believe

My son is able to be in the middle in my husband’s truck but he’s behind the passenger seat in my car. We have captains chairs in the middle and there was no way I was putting him all the way in the back row, plus the seat belt for the middle seat in the back comes down from the ceiling of the car which is pretty weird.
Once our daughter is born we will be moving our toddler behind the driver in both vehicles and the baby will go behind the passenger. For me, having the baby behind the passenger seat makes the most sense because I can have my toddler climb in on the passenger side and go get in his seat, put the baby in the car, go around to buckle my son in and get in without having to go back around the car again. There isn’t enough room in the truck to place two seats next to each other.

Daughter is in the passenger side in the back and my son will be behind me when he’s born. I feel safer that way. I know my sons car seat won’t fit in the middle and my daughter has special needs I wouldn’t want her to be able to get to him while she’s in her car seat.
