Trying after chemical

I had a really shitty chemical pregnancy this month. I had great line progression 10-13 dpo, then a faint at 14, negative at 15, and a really painful heavy period on 17dpo. My husband really wants to keep going next month, but I’ve heard it’s better to wait 3 months after a miscarriage. I spoke to a nurse at my obgyn over the phone and she thinks we simply had false positives because she doesn’t see chemical pregnancies happen in healthy couples? Everything I’ve read, though, asserts the legitimacy of chemical pregnancies.

Anyway, can we start trying again after my period ends or should we wait and use protection?
