Is this normal ?

I’m a first time mom, married to my husband for 4 years. Son is 10 weeks old.

So we started having sex again at 6.5 weeks postpartum. Every time we did it, our son would be asleep in his bassinet or staying with my mom overnight in our guest room. We never did it while he was near and awake.

I guess my husband was just really horny, but we started foreplaying while my son was in bed with us (we are having a staycation in a hotel with a king bed ). He was on the other end of the bed facing away from us, falling asleep on his own while self soothing. But he wasn’t completely asleep and was baby sounds. We were on the other end facing away from him. I told my husband, let him fall asleep first. He said, “but that’ll take another 5-10 minutes, plus he won’t hear or see us. What does he know anyways. “ I know that our son doesn’t know what’s going on, I just felt weird having sec in the same bed with him in it, with him partially awake lol.

Is this normal for married couples ? I’m new to this.

Overall, I wasn’t very into it because I tried so hard to keep quiet and not to move the bed too much to wake him. It was just weird to me, but is my husband right ?
