Beginning exercise. Will this work?
I’ve been promising myself for 2 years I’m going to exercise and improve my health and weight and I never do. I can’t follow through with it. I give up.
My eating habits aren’t great. I skip breakfast eat a massive lunch snack till dinner then eat with the children and then snack after they are in bed. And I don’t do any exercise apart from running around after the kids and general housework.
Over the weekend I was thinking more and more about just jumping in because it’s now or never. Im not happy with myself im 15st and in size 18-20 clothes and I don’t feel comfortable in what I want to wear so im in jeans or leggings and oversized tops. On Monday morning when I dropped my kids off at school I came home straight away and I made a pact with myself that I was going start exercise and eat well without restricting myself to much because that’s when I give up and crave foods.
I took before photos and measured my waist etc. didn’t weigh myself because a lot of things influence weight and I don’t want to become fixated like I have done before.
So today I day 3 and I’m just about to start my 3rd workout of the week (the furthest I’ve ever got!).
I’ve decided to do a quick 15 min beginner work out each morning mon-fri then rest at the weekend. And then do more challenging ones as I get fitter. And walk the dog each night for about 30-45mins and try build up to an hour and to make sure it’s a worthwhile walk not a slow slumped walk.
I’m not going to remeasure myself for 6 weeks or weigh myself at all I’m just going to focus on feeling better and being proud that I’m following this through and getting fitter for myself and my children. I can’t wait to be a better healthier me.
I’m currently unemployed studying to become a teaching assistant so whilst I don’t have a job to fill my days I’m giving myself a head start on my fitness whilst I can instead of probably trying to do it all at once.
Im not sure if this is correct but I’m doing my best and something is better than nothing.
