Induction cause of GD?

So I’m 34 weeks and 6 days today! My doc has asked me to decide on what method of delivery I want and when? She said I need to be induced in 39th-40th week. She doesn’t want me to go past 40th week because of diabetes. Anyone in similar boat? What did you guys do? What it’s like being induced ?

If your diabetes is so well controlled that you get to chose i would wait as long as possible and hope for baby to come by itself. I would never chose an induction unless absolutely medically necessary.

As long as your GD is under control, go ahead and decline induction if that is what you want. I had GD with my first and did LOTS of research on the risks/benefits of going onto labor naturally with diet controlled GD. I presented my research to my OB and respectfully declined induction and asked her not to bring it up again. 
I went into labor naturally at 40 weeks 5 days, my labor was 24 hours long, gave birth to a 10lb 1oz baby boy at 40 weeks 6 days without any issues at all. I got an epidural about 12 hours into my labor and it was the best decision ever! I literally felt nothing at all until my son was crowning. I pushed for a little over an hour then boom, he was here. 🥰
