How long for tear to heal?

Hi mommas ❤️ my baby was born 4 days ago and I had a 1st degree tear. It’s not that bad, but it is soo painful. Getting out of bed or walking is torture. Can I ask how long did it take for yours to feel okay? I think part of my problem is that I needed some stitches in the labia, so since that skin “hangs” it rubs against clothes making it worse

I had a 3rd degree cut, so a little different, but it took me like two months for it to stop hurting and couldn’t have sex for a looong time without it hurting

I had a second degree tear and honestly it wasn’t uncomfortable for me or painful

5-6weeks for a 1st degree to heal for me with my first. But like 6-8weeks to really normal again down there.

I had second degree internal and external tears with both my kids. First layer of stitches into the muscles and second layer surface skin. With my first kiddo dermoplast, Tylenol, and peri bottle were my best friends the first two weeks. With my second I didn't need any of that but used the peri bottle for cleaning after bathroom trips. The pain wasn't nearly as bad the second time around. I just wasn't allowed to bend, lift anything heavier than baby, or squat down until the stitches healed. Both times it took about 6 weeks for the external stitches to heal and 8 weeks for the internal stitches to heal. Even after that the area was a bit tender for a few months. Not painful, just tender.
