Groin pain , 3rd trimester
I’m 30 weeks pregnant and a first time mom.
I’ve had sciatica for years due to an injury in my teens and now that I’m pregnant it’s gotten worse. I have to go to physical therapy twice a week to work on pelvic floor exercises, stretching, etc for it. Everything’s been great.
Well all of a sudden since last week I’ve noticed that once I lay down for bed I start to experience sharp pain ONLY on the right side where my bikini line is. It doesn’t radiate to my vagina or anywhere else. It’s Just that one location. Feels like it’s almost in my inner most thigh connecting to my labia.
And no It’s not my underwear. It’s definitely a nerve thing and Ik it’s normal to get that since baby is growing, I just can’t figure out what to do to make it go away.
If I lay on my side it hurts even more, and if I open my legs to wedge a pillow in between it’s like my body can’t do it. The pain is so bad I can’t open my legs to even do that. And even when I do wedge a pillow it hurts like hell .
But when I sit up, it goes away, it’s ONLY when I lay down. So now I have to sleep basically sitting up.
I’m already exercising, doing kegels, nerve glide stretches, yoga ball exercises, pelvic floor exercises, etc. I have a giant pregnancy pillow, I have a small Boppy pillow wedge.
Nothing helps.
Of course im gonna let my doctor know at my next appointment which is next week, but any idea how to make it go away? What to do? What it’s actually called? Or relief?
