Why does this happen so often :(

Why do I hear so many people that have lost their baby’s at 20-27 weeks? I thought that things were most likely in the clear by this time. I’m so terrified of something happening to my baby boy 😣 I’m 22 weeks but everything looks great last time I checked last week.. i shouldn’t worry but I can’t help it when I see things like this left & right

It doesn’t happen often but it feels that way because people tend to write about when bad things happen so they can find some support on this app. Per the CDC, after 20 weeks, approximately 1 in every 100 pregnancies is affected by stillbirth, which is only 0.01%.

I wouldn’t say this is common. 
It’s just that normal pregnancies don’t get talked about as much. 
People who experience loss or difficult pregnancies share these story more frequently. Therefore, you are going to see far more extreme cases than normal pregnancies.

If you’re in a group of people with similar due dates you’re going to see a ton of people lose babies. It’s unfortunate but when you group that many people with similar due dates together it’s going to seem like more than it is. Those types of posts get pushed to the top because everyone feels bad and reacts too,

The ones it usually hurts me the most is hearing something looking their unborn at 37+ weeks. I can’t imagine having absolutely everything gather together and finding out you’re not bringing your baby home with you after feeling him/her for the last 37+ weeks. It breaks my heart. I’m only 26 weeks almost 27 weeks and I pray every day for my unborn baby. I’m wasn’t ready for him, since I got pregnant on birth control, but my heart and my soul have come to term and I don’t think I won’t be the same person if I lose him now. I would prefer having him prematurely than not having him alive at all.

I lost my Babygirl at 38 weeks and I’m pregnant again and I’m terrified of carrying this baby however I’m just not going to make plans I guess that’s my way of coping if you get it don’t worry thoe you will be fine
