Wedding gift ?

Hi I'm meant to be attending a wedding in the upcoming month. When they say monetary gift is preffered,  what is an acceptable amount? We are currently not financially in a good position but I also don't want to be rude.

For our wedding, people gave varying amounts (from 25$-100$) usually people go with at least the cost of their meal but really, it is what you can afford. We didn't expect anything from anyone for ours so we were really greatful for even just a card :)

Whatever you can afford, usually we stick by $40-100 depending our relationship, our siblings we try to do more than that, but close friends $100, less for people we aren’t as close with. Usually $40 is standard to “cover your meal” if you are eating.

I got married a year ago and I received ranged from $50-$500 ..never asked for just money . I just had a registry . It was just nice to receive anything. Just do what you can afford and don’t worry about anything else.
