Is this diasistis recti?

5 months pp from a c section, (not sure if relevant) since I had him everytime I’m sat and lean forward or move funny I always feel like a pop or a click in my breastbone (where your bra strap would go) right in the middle of my stomach. it’s not painful just super annoying. It’s worrying me as I don’t know what it is. I’ve had loads of blood work done and even a chest c ray a few weeks ago (for something unrelated) but I’m assuming if there was anything they would find it) so my question is. Is this diasistis recti? My tummy is still huge (just flabby) I’ve tried to the test with the fingers but I think there is just too much fat there to be accurate. If anybody had any thoughts/experiences I’d be super grateful. I suffer badly with health anxiety so as you can guess this is super distressing for me. Please help xxx

I have a 2 finger diasistis recti that I'm going to physical therapy and working on. It's my understanding that it wouldn't cause any clicking in your breastbone. Diasistis recti is an ab separation, so it's not in the breastbone area and wouldn't affect it. I'm not sure if you're breastfeeding but my PT said everything is looser due to hormones while youre breastfeeding and suggested that's why I have random clicks/popping and muscle strain. I'm sure you're fine but you can always try to get in with your OB or a primary care doctor and have them check for the diasistis recti. It's super quick and easy to check for. Try not to stress yourself too much ❤️ I know it's easier said than done, though!!!

It could be! That makes sense, it could also be some weakening of your pelvic floor. I only say that because I have back, hip, and pelvic pain myself and developed bursitis of the hips and my PT thinks it's largely due to a weak pelvic floor (and the diasistis). Maybe give your doctor a call and see if they could get you in for some physical therapy or at least evaluate and see if it would help? Hope it feels better soon though 😊

Im not breastfeeding no (not for want of trying) I do have gallbladder issues tho so maybe this is more likely. I just wondered because I do experience lots of back pain, hip pelvic pain also which I know can be connected to diasistis xx
