What would you choose if you didn’t have any help postpartum?

My first I had a vaginal. But I ended up needing an episiotomy. I couldn’t walk or do anything. But I had much help. This time I’m due with #2 and have 0 help plus I have a 21 month old son.

Definitely not csection. You won't be able to lift your other kid.

Avoid c-section at all cost. You basically won’t be able to care for your toddler because you won’t be allowed to lift them for 6 weeks

A c section is major surgery vs an episiotomy. Not even comparable. You won’t be able to lift or really do much for your toddler like others have said. And it’s not something you should elect to do unless medically necessary.

Ive had a 4th degree tear and also a c section. C section was way worse and longer recovery.

I didn't have help with my 1st and I had a csection.
With my 2nd I had help but only for a few days and when he went back to work I was still struggling but I managed. That one was a csection too
I only CHOSE a csection with my 2nd because near the end my body dilated to 1cm then went back down and I was just so tired and mentally exhausted and they were fine with me wanting a csection, but the 2nd time around was harder.

Ive had both. I would have another vaginal in a heartbeat. I couldnt imagine not being able to not drive myself places with two kids, to not be able to pick up my toddler, to not have full mobility with a toddler. I barely know how i did it with help and a newborn. I couldnt imagine it all over again

Absolutely avoid csection. It’s a longer recovery and you’ll have a very very hard time taking care of you toddler. Csection shouldn’t be done unless a medical reason.
