Would a hospital allow me to get in the shower under warm water during labor?

Question

My hospital and hospitals near me do not offer a labor tub so that’s out of the picture for me. I randomly had this thought about the shower!

Mine only has showers but I wasn't allowed to shower during labor, I never asked but I wasn't allowed to walk around either I was to stay in the bed 😫

A hospital is not a jail. I say this as a labor nurse. 
Most providers where I work would sign off on a shower provided there weren't extenuating circumstances. 
However, all we can do is give you the risks of any given thing you want to do, but decision is ultimately yours. 
IV can be wrapped. Some wireless monitors can be worn in the shower. If baby looks good, some providers are ok with coming off monitors for a short period of time. 
Best bet is to talk to your provider and what they think would be a good solution for you.

They should, not sure why they wouldn't. My hospital has two birthing suites with tubs, I was lucky enough to get one when I went into labor with my first! I labored in the tub for a couple of hours before I decided I wanted an epidural. 
If the tubs aren't available then you can get in the shower! 
I absolutely loved laboring in the tub! I labored at home in the tub for a few hours before we had to head to the hospital. I believe it's one of the things that helped minimize tearing when I was pushing out my 10lb 1oz baby boy as a FTM! 
I'm 40+4 with baby #2 and really hope to get another tub suite but will for sure get in the shower if one is not available.

That is what they did for me first labour but I absolutely hated it! It actually made me really angry

It depends on the hospital. But, for mine, they did. You just couldn’t be hooked up to anything. I got in the shower when my contractions started getting harder and it helped a ton. They had already given put in an IV hook up, but they just wrapped it up so it wouldn’t get wet. I stayed until I decided to get the epidural, and then they hooked me up to begin receiving fluids.

i think it depends on how you’re progressing
i was induced so in labor i guess for hours and hours before pushing began. i did get in the shower when i was dilated to a 6. i was having some back labor too so the hot water helped 
so i think as long as you’re not pushing/about to be pushing you can 
in actual pushing stage, i’d think not
