How’s the transition from 1 kid to 2?

How hard is it transitioning from 1 kid to 2? My son is fixing to turn 2 and we want to start trying for another baby soon like around the time of the new year beginning. Our toddler will probably be close to or a little over 3 years old by the time another baby would arrive. Is that a bad or difficult age gap? I hear lots of mixed opinions about the transition.

Honestly my older 2 are 14 months apart and the transition was super easy to me. Now going from 2 to 3 kids it’s been really hard. My older 2 are 3 & 5.

My daughter was 27 months when we had our son and it was “difficult” not what I expected at all my daughter was a very easy going baby and my son was/is super difficult he’s now almost 3 and we are pregnant with #3 hoping for a easy going baby 😅

I got pregnant with my son the week of my daughters second birthday. My son is 2.5 mo now and my daughter will be 3 next month. It has definitely been a difficult transition, he is a very high needs baby and frequent nurser (every 45 minutes if he’s not napping in his crib which is once a day) so giving her the attention that she wants is hard sometimes and she gets resentful of him sometimes, but to see her play with him and how they look at each other makes it all worth it. And each week has been a little easier than the last.

Personally I think the older the better and I think 3 year age gap would be fine.
My daughter will be 4 at the end of January and we just brought baby brother home on Thursday. She's having a bit of a difficult time adjusting in some aspects but it's a huge change for everyone and should be expected. So far the most difficult challenge is leaving the house on time. However, im only on day three of having two kids. The advice I keep hearing is there will be good days and bad days for everyone and that's okay. Make sure to keep your oldest involved in caring for the baby and make sure you're dedicating time to your oldest where you do things together. I had a c-section so I'm not really able to do much and my girl is definitely resenting me a little bit for that. She hasn't really spoken to me since we got home. I just keep reassuring her and validating her feelings without taking it personally. Last night before bed she actually gave me a hug and kiss and kissed her brothers toes too. Take it day by day and do your best. It all works out in the end

My two are 16 months apart, I didn’t find it hard. It has its hard days but other then that I love it and would/will do it again.

That’s how old my son was when I had my second and it was a perfect age gap for me. Not too young, not too old. It’s been pretty easy especially now that he’s older
