Recipe question

Hi, I’m new to cooking so I’m sorry if this is a dumb question. I was watching a cooking video and it says to add one cup of white wine. Is there a specific white wine for cooking or can I just use any drinking white wine? I have cooking wine but it doesn’t say white wine. Is that okay?
