I feel cheated.
On the night of March 14th I began having irregular uncomfortable contractions every 10ish minutes. I decided to labor it out more at home because I had an OB appointment that morning at 9am. So the night goes on, with the contractions waking me up every 10ish minutes. 9am rolls around and I’m still having them. They put me on the monitor and see that I am indeed contracting and decide to send me over to labor and delivery because I am in “early labor”. So I get over there to the hospital and they do all the normal paperwork put me on the monitor all that stuff. They tell me my contractions are far apart and not consistent. So they start me an IV and give me Pitocin and break my water within 1 hour of me being there. My contractions really pick up at this point, coming every 5 minutes and PAINFUL. They continue to increase my Pitocin, without telling me they are doing so. I start having STRONG contractions every 1 minute and then I start to feel tired and nauseous and the alarm starts going off. My blood pressure is dropping and baby’s heart rate is dropping fast every time I have a contraction. The doctor runs in and gives me some medicine through my IV and puts me on my side to try and get baby’s heart rate to come up. They admit that they gave me too much Pitocin and caused the blood flow to get cut off from the placenta and my baby because of the amount of Pitocin they gave me. They almost KILLED ME AND MY SON to try and rush my labor.
