Should I be upset

Update: She had an appointment today. At the last appointment they had told me her stitches were dissolvable but at this appointment I was told that the dead tissue was still hanging on by a stitch that had not come out. She was already terrified going in saying she didn’t want to see the doctor and then putting the scissors up to her finger cutting off dead tissue made it a lot worse. The doctor who saw her was squeezing her finger so that made me think her finger was healed, and I asked him if she no longer needed to have her finger bandaged and he informed me that she still needed the bandages because it was still raw which really upset me because why would they do that to her finger if it was still raw. At the last appointment I was told to change her bandages every other day so she would have to go through all the crying and having me mess with her finger everyday, today I was basically told it’s 2 minutes in a 24 hour period she’ll get over it. I just can’t wrap my mind around the fact that when she had the finger stitched on I was told there was blood flow to it and that it was pink like the rest of her fingers and 10 days later it’s dead tissue and she lost it, the stitches didn’t dissolve properly and she had to get them cut off, I don’t think someone is really this unlucky to have all these negative experiences every time she has an appointment.

About 3 weeks ago my 3 year old had an accident. She was with her grandparents and was running and got her finger caught on something and had her finger partially amputated. The accident happened at about 5PM and I immediately went to pick her up, I live about 10 minutes away which and the hospital was about another 15 minutes. I got to the hospital and told them what had happened and they didn’t start to work on her finger until about 9PM. They stitched her finger on and put a cast in her entire arm and said that was all they could do. The doctor who stitched her up said everything looked good and the finger was pink and there was a good chance she’d keep it. I was supposed to be referred to a plastic surgeon and take her to be seen about 7 days later, which would have been on a Friday. I waited until Monday to get a call letting me know when her appointment was and never received one. I called them on Tuesday was transferred about 3 times and the last time I was transferred no one answered me. I had to call back again and was told no referral had ever been made and that she could not be seen Friday, which was the day they had said at the hospital. I was informed that the soonest appointment was Monday, 3 days later. On Wednesday I received another call that her appointment had be moved to Tuesday instead of Monday. At the appointment her cast was removed and they told me that the tip of her finger was squishy and probably wouldn’t stay on. Another doctor then told me that it was squishy because it had been bandaged for so long, but because of the cast I couldn’t change the bandages. She also had a part of her finger that was already black. I was told I’d have to take her back in 7 days later but once again they set her appointment for 10 days later. I’ve been changing her bandages every other day but the tip of her finger has now fallen off. I was talking to someone who told me that they should have worked on her finger way before they did and that it was because of the doctors taking so long to work on it that she lost it. I was upset they took so long and that she keeps having to wait so long between appointments to be seen but am I right to be upset or am I just being over dramatic?
