Cake that sat out over night?

I have always been fine with cake/cupcakes sitting on counter unless it absolutely needs to be in fridge. But while pregnant I’ve been using a little extra caution… 
what do y’all think about eating cake/cupcakes that sit out over night while pregnant ??

Tbh I didn’t think cake was kept in the fridge anyway. Unless it has fresh cream in it, then it absolutely should.

Unless the cake has whipped topping or is a cheesecake, it doesnt need to be refrigerated (just like bread or cookies). Just like bread, as long as it's not stale and theres no mold, it's fine.
