Contractions?

I think I’m having contractions. I’m 38 weeks. 3 cm dilated. Im not 100% sure. They aren’t unbearable. I can still manage. Any advice?

Answer

Time them for atleast an hour or two and lie down. If they are real they will not stop. They should eventually become more frequent and longer in duration. Not always though. I thought I was in false labour as the contractions were every 5mins but only lasting about 30seconds. Went to bed and my waters broke 😅 she’s was born 3 hrs later

If this were me, I would want them longer than 25 sec average (closer to a minute long or longer), happening for a good hour or two, and most importantly they would need to be strong enough that I couldn’t walk or talk through them. 
This is coming from someone who isn’t interested in being at the hospital during early labor (id like to stay home where I’m comfortable), has a 45 minute drive and doesn’t want to get sent back home, and doesn’t have a history of super fast labors—so take it for what it’s worth for your situation 😊
