Convertible Carseat

This is my third baby and we have an extra convertible seat so I don't really want to spend money on a new infant car seat. My only concern (this may sound stupid) is how do I go about brining the baby home from the hospital? My hospital requires a car seat be brought in and checked with infant inside of it.
