Am I an A hole
I recently got a cat that I rescued and when I first brought her home 6 months ago she did really well with everything. I have two large reptile tanks set up in my bedroom where the cat hangs out a lot. She used to never interact with the tanks at all except stare at it occasionally. Within the past few months, my cat has been jumping on top of them and she even broke one of the mesh coverings and fell INTO the tank!!
I’ve tried EVERYTHING to keep her off. Building a wall, moving it further away from tables, and i even built a very tall sturdy shelf for these tanks so they were higher to the ceiling. My cat somehow ALWAYS gets ontop!
It’s becoming a huge danger to both my reptiles and I’m concerned I no longer have a fit environment for them.
I am thinking of rehoming them to someone who has a safe environment. My family tells me that would be like giving up my children and I just have to find a solution.
Am I wrong for wanting to re home my reptiles?
