Are these Labor Gowns allowed?

I came across this small business in instagram that sells the most beautiful “labor gowns” 😍 but I was wondering are they really allowed? Who would I have to ask this too? I’m scared to buy one as they are not cheap..to then be told when it’s time that I’m not allowed to wear it when delivering 😩…I don’t know if this would contribute but I plan to have a epidural free labor this second time as I did with my first. (Natural birth)

It seems like a waste of money to me, just because there’s a lot of blood and icky stuff involved with birthing a child lol, I’m not really sure if I’d spend the money on something jd just throw away after. But that’s completely up to you, you’d have to ask your hospital

Yes it’s definitely allowed, you can wear what you like! I personally got the Frida mom dress and it was 1000% worth it! The hospital gowns suck. Yeah for sure it gets dirty, but nothing that a washer can’t fix

99% of hospitals don’t care but it’s good to ask anyways and also (I looked over the other replies) I’m not sure about THEIR birthing experiences but from my experience of birthing 9 babies it’s really not that messy. I’ve had home births and hospital births and I’ve always worn what I want )never the hospital gown) and never had problems with the hospital or even the “mess” of birth.

My mother in law bought me a birthing gown, I plan on using it after baby is delivered and I take a shower. Until then I plan on just wearing the hospital one

Most hospitals allow you to wear what you want. I am sensitive to material against my skin while pregnant, and during labor it irritates me even more, so I won’t wear the hospital gown as it feels scratchy. I’ll be sticking to a sports bra and my own robe. During pushing likely take off the robe and wear just the sports bra.

I personally would wear the hospital gowns for labor & then if you really want, wear the one you like afterwards as maybe a robe or nursing gown.

I wore the hospital gown but mine were super soft and very very comfy. They wrapped around so no bottom hanging out and were just super comfy and actually kinda cute. I just wanted until we were hone then did pictures the next day. I felt better and was less puffy anyways and could just change into something cute at home.

100% depends on your hospital. With my first, we had to wear the hospital gowns in case of emergency. With my second, you were allowed to wear clothes from home.
